Labor shouldn't come with a phone tree

When contractions start, the last thing you need is a list of 40 people to text. But family is waiting. Friends are anxious. And your partner is torn between supporting you and updating everyone.

"He kept leaving to update them, which was probably his reaction to being nervous. But I needed him with me."
— New mom, r/BabyBumps
"I don't want nor need constant texts or calls asking how I'm progressing or how much longer. That just adds more stress."
— Expecting mother, The Bump forums

Most couples end up with one person managing the group text chaos while everything else is happening. The Stork handles it automatically — so your partner stays focused on you, and everyone stays in the loop.

Beautifully simple

1

Create your circle

Invite the family and close friends who should know when it's time — your inner circle.

2

One tap at the hospital

When you're heading in, tap once. Everyone in your circle gets a push notification instantly.

3

Share updates, not stress

Post updates to one place. No repeating yourself. Family follows along without calling you.

4

Announce with joy

Share the name, the photo, the moment — a beautiful announcement to everyone at once.

Everything for the big day

Instant notifications

One tap and your entire circle knows. Push notifications arrive in seconds — no group text chaos.

Optional GPS alerts

Enable auto-detection and your family gets notified the moment you arrive at the hospital — even if nobody remembers to hit send.

Live update feed

Your partner posts updates to one feed. Family reads along without blowing up your phone.

Visiting hours

Set visiting preferences so family knows when to come — and when to give you space.

Hospital wish list

Real-time requests for what visitors can pick up on the way — charger, food from a nearby spot, flowers. Practical, in-the-moment needs, not a baby registry.

Birth announcement

Name, weight, time, photo — share the news beautifully with everyone who's been waiting.

Wish list & registry

Link your registry or create a simple wish list. Family can see what's still needed before they visit.

Private & secure

Invite-only circles. No social feeds, no strangers. Just your people.

No ads, ever

The core experience is always free and always clean. No ads on the most important day of your life.

Optional feature

Never worry about missing the moment again

What if your family didn't have to wait for a text that might never come? With optional GPS detection, The Stork can sense when you arrive at the hospital — and alert your circle automatically.

No more worrying that your partner will be too caught up in the moment to hit send. No more family sitting by the phone wondering if they missed the call. Your people know the instant it matters, without anyone having to think about it.

Questions you might have

Most parents set it up during the nesting phase — around weeks 32 to 38. You create your birth event, invite your circle, and it's ready whenever you are. Your partner can manage updates during labor so you don't have to.
Your inner circle gets the app for free — they receive an invite link, download The Stork, and instantly join your birth event. For less tech-savvy family members (grandparents, for example) who won't download an app, we plan to offer SMS notifications as a lightweight fallback so no one gets left out. The app is the full experience; SMS is there so everyone can be in the loop regardless.
Group chats work — until they don't. Everyone gets notified simultaneously for every message, including reply-alls from relatives who don't know how to mute threads. You can't control who sees what, there's no structure for visiting hours or updates, no place for your birth announcement to live, and your labor photos end up in the same thread as Aunt Linda's reaction GIFs. The Stork gives your birth day its own space — calm, organized, and exactly as private as you want it.
The GPS feature is completely optional. When enabled, it only checks whether you've arrived at a hospital — it doesn't track your movements or share your location with anyone. You stay in full control of when your circle is notified, whether that's automatic or with a single tap.
The core experience — creating a birth event, inviting your circle, sending the labor notification, posting updates, and sharing a birth announcement — is free. We'll offer optional premium features (custom announcement designs, unlimited circle size, GPS auto-detection) at a small one-time cost. We're talking less than the price of a onesie.
That's exactly why The Stork exists. One tap is all it takes — or if you've enabled GPS detection, your circle gets notified automatically when you arrive at the hospital. Either way, no one has to manage the notification scramble during the most intense hours of your life.
